Welcome to Amzi Love Lincoln Homes.The
Amzi Love home was built in 1848 by Mr. Love for his bride Edith
Wallace. The basic structure is Italianate with Greek and Gothic
Revival influence, exemplified by the brackets under the projecting
cornice and arches of the porch with its jig-saw balustrade. The
Lincoln Home is located in the Columbus Historic District, it sits two
blocks south of Main Street, and just west of the Mississippi
University for Women campus. It is in easy walking distance of the
school, churches, restaurants, gift and antique shops and the Trotter
Convention Center. Columbus Air Force Base visitors and guests often
use the Lincoln Home facilities. Built in 1833, the Lincoln place was
home to the Lincoln family for about 135 years. River walk and trail is close by for bird and nature watchers. |
